"Maple looked solemnly at Birch, "The four conquerors descendents forgot their bloody past in a misty haze of love affairs. The bloodlines mingled and started to die as foreigners blood intermixed. Hemlock and Poinsettia were heavily laden with the prophetic lines and passed it on three of the prophesized four. My siblings. They passed this to their children. My father as well had a faint grasp of this heritage and I, being first born, was also named a star…"

Birch's face fell. His eyebrows raised in surprise, "You?"

The black wolf squeezed his eyes and breathed deep. The idea of being in a prophecy... was... such an honor. But there was more.

"I. But as we grew and played with these stories like field mice do the flowers on the wind, we had no idea what we passed on to our children. And so I had doomed my firstborn son to his fate…"

Birch's eyes flew open. In fascination he whispered, "It was Pine."

"He was a star. Oak’s son, the first and last of the litter after the sign, was as well. And Foxglove’s pup too. They all were to die"

Birch's heart fell into his ribs. What fate their ancestors had cursed them to! For father's to loose their sons and daughters... All for the sake of one wolf race to reign over all. Suddenly, a thought crossed his mind. Something wasn't right. Four were needed to complete the prophecy.

"But Maple, you’ve only listed three,"

Instant realization constricted his heart like a snake suffocating its kill. He swelled his lungs with the sweet night air as it all came into place. He threw his head up to gaze at the night sky. Maple grimly looked up as well. Three stars were glowing with a dim light... But one remained bright. One was left.

Darkness filled his heart. It wasn't over. Birch looked to him in desperation... wondering... waiting.

Maple gently whispered, "One has not fallen." "

This was an overdue prize for . She was the one to catch my Kiriban (well... the only one ) and I owed her a prize. Here it is. It took me over a year but due to the low response to my art, I dropped its importance. But either way, now it's done!

This is based on the novel Ammie is writing. The piece above explains a little bit. It's an awful adaptation. I only had a few notes that Ammie had jotted down to write with and it's not my novel... so the writing is terrible.

The characters from left to right are Pine, Star, and Moon.

I cheated on this piece a bit by using a brush for the trees and I excluded the final wolf that is the one meant for the prophecy. He was drawn but I got lazy and didn't want to include him in the picture. I was also going to draw Maple and Birch standing on the rock but I didn't have the will power. I like it the way it is for one of my first REAL pieces on DA other than Defy the Fire.

Comments are appreciated! But please leave off the wolf anatomy. It's not marvelous, I know and in fact this is almost of a progression of my drawing skills. Pine was drawn almost a year ago, Moon being drawn a little after, and Star being drawn last month.
